BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Taft police officers arrested a man Saturday who was wanted for $225,000 worth of felony warrants.
Police received a tip on where they could find 24-year-old Eduardo Alcantar-Lopez.
Police said they were conducting surveillance in the area where Alcantar-Lopez was believed to be when they saw a car begin to leave the area.
Police followed the car to a Fastrip located at 903 Kern Street. When the car stopped, officers drew their weapons and called for Alcantar-Lopez to come out of the car.
Alcantar-Lopez got out of the car and attempted to run from officers by running into a nearby storage yard.
A few minutes later, officers found Alcantar-Lopez hiding underneath one of the trailers and took him into custody.
Alcantar-Lopez is wanted for warrants stemming from a home invasion robbery that occurred last May.
The charges on the warrant included robbery, burglary, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, and making threats with the intent to terrorize.
Alcantar-Lopez was taken to a hospital for injuries he sustained during the chase.
