Both Kern County and Bakersfield fire crews battled a fire Sunday at a home in south Bakersfield.

Crews were called out around 3 p.m. to a house in the 400 block of Jumbuck Lane near Fairview Road and South Union Avenue.

They arrived and found the garage of the home fully engulfed in flames. They worked quickly and were able to stop it from spreading to the rest of the home. Most of the items in the garage were destroyed, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department.

The fire also damaged a car that was in the driveway.

No one was injured during the incident.

A representative of the building department has been sent to the scene to determine if the home is still habitable.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
