BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man's body was found Wednesday in a canal in central Bakersfield.

An official with the Bakersfield Fire Department confirmed the discovery in the canal behind some businesses in the area of California Avenue and Easton Drive.

Authorities said they received a call for the incident around 3:30 p.m.

The person has not yet been identified.
