Bakersfield, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A group of just under 100 veterans arrived back home on Thursday night from their Honor Flight.
This was the 42nd Honor flight to take place in Bakersfield.
The community was excited to come out and support the veterans because this was the first flight to happen since 2019 because of the pandemic.
One of the local veterans explained his experience. He said, "it was a lot of healing, a few tears. It was just a great time."
Veterans from World War II, the Koren War, and the Vietnam War all took part in the Honor Flight.
They are now accepting applications for the upcoming Honor Flights.
