BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A former high school star athlete has been found competent to stand trial for several alleged sexual assaults.

Brandon Robinson is facing 15 felony counts in Kern County court.

Robinson was enrolled at Bakersfield College at the time of the assaults early last year. He’s also a former star athlete at Centennial High School.

The District Attorney’s Office confirmed to Eyewitness News on Tuesday that Robinson was found competent for prosecution to proceed. The Bakersfield Californian newspaper cites court documents in reporting that Robinson blamed his actions on childhood events and Satanic influence.
