Former Ridgeview, Stockdale coach arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a minor

A former girls' basketball coach at Ridgeview and Stockdale high schools has been arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a minor in 2011.

Officers were contacted by a woman Friday, who claimed that she had been involved in a sexual relationship with 28-year-old Keith Lamont Cash Jr., the Bakersfield Police Department said Monday.

The woman told police she was 14 years old at the time, and the situation lasted about a year.

After speaking with the woman, officers interviewed Cash and arrested him.

Cash was employed with the Kern High School District as a coach for the Ridgeview and Stockdale girls' basketball teams between 2011 to 2017, according to police.
