Man arrested after crash, discovery of gun

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Police arrested a man with a gun following a crash Thursday at Brimhall and Coffee roads.

    An officer was parked below the Westside Parkway exit at Coffee when he thought he heard a gunshot and then saw a pickup speed past. The truck went down the exit and slammed into a car.

    Police said the driver of the pickup tried to run off on foot but was chased down.

    A gun was found in the pickup, but police have yet to find any other evidence of a shooting.

    The driver of the car suffered minor injuries, police said.

    No shooting victims have been located.
