BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Garces Memorial High School teacher Timothy Gordon has been reportedly fired over controversial statements he posted on social media.
Students and parents signed an online petition saying he was spreading hate and ignorance through his posts online.
The post are in relation to the Black Lives Matter movement and sexual orientation.
The Fresno Diocese Office of Education criticizing the comments in a press release Friday night.
In response to the concerns raised by the community regarding recent postings on social media by Tim Gordon: Mr. Gordon is not authorized to speak on behalf of the Diocese of Fresno or Garces Memorial High School, and neither the Diocese nor Garces Memorial High School condones Mr. Gordon’s recent postings." said Ms. Mona Faulkner, Superintendent of the Diocese of Fresno.
