Get a look behind the scenes at a tour of Kern County Sheriff's Office Saturday

    The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is opening its doors for a public tour of its headquarters.

    The tour takes place from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday at the KCSO facility located at 1350 Norris Road.

    The tour will include the Air Support Unit, SWAT, training simulators, the Bomb Squad and the K9 units.

    Parts of the tour will take place outside, so visitors should wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.

    Anyone who wants to attend must RSVP by calling (661) 391-7559. Adults need to bring a valid California driver’s license with them the morning of the tour.

    Free parking is available just west of the facility, at 1400 Norris Road.
