Bakersfield, Calif (KBAK/KBFX) — The Tejon Indian Tribe announced Tuesday they are partnering with Hard Rock International to bring Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tejon to south Kern County.
According to Richard Chapman, CEO of Kern County Economic Development Corporation, the project could bring 2,000 permanent jobs and 1,000 construction jobs to the county.
Chapman, who consulted on the project, also said they are anticipating an indirect impact that will create an additional 1,200 jobs around the county.
A business like the Hard Rock has the potential to create jobs across the spectrum and even long-range careers for some.
"There will be the opportunity to move up. Mobility, that's really important," Chapman said.
