A house explosion rocked the 7800 block of Fir Avenue in California City early Tuesday morning.

The fire and police departments responded around 3:45 a.m. and several secondary explosions sent projectiles, that turned out to be pressurized cans of butane, out the windows.

Crews from Kern County Fire and Edwards Air Force Base assisted the local department.

Investigators found evidence of an illegal honey-oil operation inside the home.

Honey oil, also known as hash oil, weed oil or dab, is a concentrated residue made by blasting marijuana plants with highly flammable butane gas.

No one was inside the home and no suspects have been arrested.

Environmental health personnel were working to remove the chemicals from the home, along with 3,000 bottles of butane.
