Human remains found in Kern River near Hart Park
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Human remains were found Sunday evening in the Kern River near Hart Memorial Park, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
A group of teenagers swimming in the Kern River just east of Hart Park discovered a bag containing what was left of a decaying forearm and hand.
KCSO believes it had been in the river for quite some time.
The sheriff's office is still investigating a human leg that a child found in Buena Vista Lake on July 28. They've sent the leg out for DNA testing and ordered an autopsy on the arm, hoping to identify who they belong to and investigate if they share any connection.
