Some workers at Kern Regional Center are protesting their increasing case loads.

The employees say families are upset because they are losing their case worker with no one available to help them.

A hiring freeze is still in effect, despite the fact that states gave regional centers more money this year.

Kern Regional Center is a service for coordinating services and support for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

Eyewitness News has reached out to the center and we expect a statement by next week.
