Fans of CBS’s “The Amazing Race” have a chance to take part in a similar thing right here in Bakersfield.

The 7th Annual Bakersfield Amazing Race takes place March 23 and is open to all city residents.

Hosted by Stewards, a faith-based nonprofit serving the mentally disabled and elderly in Bakersfield, the scavenger hunt will send teams of two to four people around Bakersfield to 11 different venues to find clues and face challenges to win the $400 prize.

Teams will also compete for Best Costume and Best Instagram Photo.

The race begins at 9:30 a.m. at Wall Street Alley, with registration-packet pick up from 8-9:15 a.m.

After the race concludes at 1 p.m., everyone will head over the Prospect Lounge in the Padre Hotel, 1702 18th St.

Online registration is open now and costs $40 per person. Student registration costs $20. Registration closes at 6 p.m. March 22.
