Juvenile carjacking suspect arrested

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A boy was arrested for a carjacking and robbery late Wednesday night, police said.

The juvenile male – his age wasn’t disclosed – allegedly held up his victims at gunpoint at Panorama and Loma Linda drives.

The victim’s stolen car was later spotted from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office helicopter at Haley Street and Highway 178. Police said the suspect abandoned the car and was seen going into a garage on Bower Street. There, after several minutes, the suspect surrendered.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of carjacking, robbery, weapons violations, gang participation and resisting arrest.
