Kaiser Permanente pays $500K to sponsor southwest Bakersfield sports complex
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Kaiser Permanente is paying $500,000 to become the namesake sponsor for the next five years at the southwest Bakersfield sports complex.
The City Council on Wednesday designated the complex off Taft Highway as The Kaiser Permanente Sports Village.
Plans call for four more soccer fields, four permanent youth football fields, eight softball/baseball fields, a stadium field, outdoor exercise equipment, a walking and running path and landscaping.
“Kaiser Permanente has been a tremendous partner for us and is fully committed to the health and wellness of the city’s residents. Their contribution to current and future phases of the Sports Village is very positive for our entire community,” Dianne Hoover, director of Recreation and Parks, said in a news release.
