BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Board of Supervisors approved the $3 million in tax rebates for Amazon at Tuesday afternoon’s meeting.
The vote was unanimous.
Amazon will receive the tax rebates over the course of many years as long as it maintains a local workforce of 1,000 people.
The Kern County deal is much less than the $30 million in tax incentives the city of Fresno gave to Amazon in exchange for a guarantee of 750 local jobs.
