KCSO busts pot-growing compounds near Wasco; more than 1,200 plants found

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Kern County deputies on Thursday seized more than 1,200 marijuana plants from two nearby compounds west of Wasco.

Deputies found the marijuana growing in the area of Highway 46 and Wildwood Road.

One man, 50-year-old Miguel Lopez Rubio, was located at one of the compounds and was arrested. Another person was seen running away from area before deputies arrived, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies also found eight guns, including to assault-style weapons, on the property.
