A man was shot to death Wednesday morning on the southern outskirts of Delano.

Kern County Sheriff's Office Sgt. David Hubbard said the person was in a vehicle at the time and crashed with another car following the shooting at Browning Road and Woollomes Avenue.

Hubbard said some workers were in the area, heard a commotion, saw the vehicles and called 911.

Deputies said the suspect was in another vehicle on Browning Road when they opened fire on the man's SUV.

The SUV continued forward before striking another vehicle and coming to a rest.

The suspect then continued to the where the SUV had come to a rest and got into a physical confrontation with the driver of the other vehicle that was hit by the shooting victim's SUV. During the fight, the suspect fired at least one round, however no one was injured.

Only a very generic description of the shooter was provided: a Hispanic male in his 20s in a compact car.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call the Kern County Sheriff's Office at (661) 861-3110.
