Shooting leaves 14-year-old injured

The Kern County Sherrif's Office is investigating a shooting that left a 14-year-old boy injured on Tuesday night.

Deputies responded around 6:40 p.m. to the 4500 block of Vern Street after neighbors heard shots fired.

An unknown number of males in a dark-colored sedan drove by and began to shoot, according to the KCSO.

The gunfire hit the boy in his leg.

Two other houses were also hit with gunfire.
