The Active 20-30 Club of Bakersfield held its annual Child Spree on Saturday.

They provided back-to-school supplies and clothing to approximately 230 local, underserved children of Kern County.

Each child in attendance received a new backpack full of school supplies, and volunteers took the children on a $100 shopping spree to purchase back-to-school clothes and essentials.

Assemblyman Rudy Salas hosted a school supply drive in Shafter.

The school supply drive collected backpacks, pencils, notebooks and other items to support students in local schools.

All donations will be given to kids from Richland School District.

Victory Outreach Southwest Bakersfield Church gave away 500 school backpacks.
