The Kern County Probation Department arrested two men and seized three guns in McFarland on Wednesday.

The KCPD’s High Risk Offender Unit located Filialbert Lopez, who is on active felony probation, and Edgar Nunez seated in Lopez’s vehicle, parked in the 100 block of 1st Street.

The officers conducted a probation search of the vehicle and found a concealed and loaded unregistered .380 handgun.

The two men were arrested on allegations of various gun-related charges.

Later that evening, officers with the same unit conducted a probation search on a home in the 200 block of San Lucas Street.

During the search officers found a 12-gauge shotgun and a 9 mm carbine rifle with approximately 100 rounds of ammunition of various calibers.

A juvenile probationer was arrested on unrelated probation-violation charges and the guns were seized pending investigation.
