Kern health department to certify restaurants that serve healthy food
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
A program announced Thursday by Kern County Public Health Services is designed to make healthy dining choices easier.
The program, Certified Healthy, will use a number of criteria to identify foods that are healthy - those that can be used to lower chronic disease and obesity risks.
The program recognizes restaurants that provide such foods and give the restaurants stickers to display in their windows.
