Longtime columnist, reporter Lois Henry leaving Bakersfield Californian
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Longtime columnist, editor and reporter Lois Henry will leave The Bakersfield Californian at the end of the month.
Her last column is scheduled to be published Aug. 27.
Henry will become the advocacy director for BizFed Central Valley. In that role, she'll help local businesses become civically engaged, according to the newspaper.
Her work with The Californian began in 1990, covering news in eastern Kern County. Since then, she's reported from The Californian's state bureau, been on the oil beat, worked as the city editor and assistant managing editor and finally became a columnist.
