Man arrested, accused of shooting 13-year-old in Selma 2 months ago

Dinuba police arrested a man they say shot a 13-year-old in Selma in November.

The Selma Police Department saysFrank Lopez was identified as the prime suspect of the teenager on Nov. 28, 2020.

Police say Lopez has been on the run since then.

Dinuba police made a traffic stop around 9:20 a.m. on Tulare St. in Dinuba and Lopez was a passenger in the car.

They say Lopez gave them a fake name and while they were investigating he took off on foot.

Dinuba officers chased him down and took him into custody.

After learning of his identity, Lopez was booked into the Fresno County Jail on charges that include assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, negligent discharge of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, loaded firearm carried by a gang member, and willful cruelty to a child.
