Man arrested after east Bakersfield standoff

Kern County deputies arrested a man Saturday night after a standoff in east Bakersfield.

Deputies were called out shortly before 7:15 p.m. to the 600 block of Burnett Drive for a domestic disturbance.

They arrived and found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound.

Deputies later found a man had barricaded himself inside of an RV in the backyard of the home.

A SWAT team was called out, and several residences were evacuated.

After a few hours, deputies were able to arrest the man.
