BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A man will spend the rest of his life in prison for a double murder in Delano.

Carlos Cervantes shot Jeffrey Villegas and Jose Ceja Pacheco in 2016.

Cervantes was sentenced Thursday to two life sentences without the possibility of parole. Another 25 years was also tacked onto each sentence.

At the time of the murders, police attributed the motive to jealousy.

"Mr. Villegas and Mr. Cervantes had a business arrangement, and Mr. Cervantes felt that he wasn't paid fairly," Detective Larcellus Scott said.
