A man was killed Christmas Day in a two-vehicle crash on Snow Road.

The California Highway Patrol didn't really place blame on the other driver, though that man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The CHP said the driver who was killed, a 65-year-old man from Delano, was westbound on Snow near Jenica Street in northwest Bakersfield when he slowed and pulled to the shoulder. He then made what the CHP said was an "unsafe" U-turn into the path of another car.

The Kern County coroner on Tuesday identified the Delano driver as Moises Lucas Garo.

The other car was driven by 46-year-old Brent Spears, of Bakersfield. Spears, who was not hurt, was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

Garo had four passengers, including two children. They all suffered minor injuries, the CHP said.
