Man shot, killed is identified; KCSO yet to name suspect

The Kern County coroner on Thursday identified a man shot last week in east Bakersfield.

Cesar Gamez Leal, 41, was shot on Edison Highway near Oswell Street.

The Sheriff's Office found the wounded man in the parking lot of Chevy Feed & Pet Supply. He later died at a hospital.

The shooter reportedly wore dark clothing, had a rifle and ran off on foot. A suspect has not been publicly identified.
