BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Flood Ministries is operating its annual Christmas tree lot to benefit homeless people.

People can buy a tree, volunteer or make a monetary donation to help the homeless this holiday season.

Flood Ministries says sales have been strong since opening after Thanksgiving.

Patrons can also choose to flock their tree, a process that gives the illusion of freshly fallen snow.

The lot is located at 12225 Stockdale Highway and is open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

NOTE: This story has been corrected to reflect the tree lot is open seven days a week and not only Monday through Friday.
