Nurse suspected of child sex abuse in case involving former bar owner
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Police on Tuesday arrested a nurse that they believe played a role in a child sex abuse case that already involved the owner of a defunct downtown Bakersfield bar.
Tauney Lee Vansickle, 31, is being held on a $150,000 bail on suspicion of lewd acts with a child under the age of 14 and continuous sexual abuse of a child. She appears in court Thursday afternoon.
Frank Sanchez, the owner of the Green Room bar, was arrested earlier this month and is facing four felony charges related to child molestation.
A police report indicates that a 20-year-old woman recently came forward, accusing him of using her for sex years ago when she was a child. Police say he dated her mother.
That initial report did not mention a second suspect, but police on Wednesday said they believe Vansickle was involved in that relationship.
