Police investigating shooting near Heritage Park

One person was killed and another injured Saturday in a shooting at Heritage Park.

Officers were called out around 9:30 a.m. to the area of Bernard Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue after neighbors heard gunshots.

They arrived and found a man suffering from a major-injury gunshot wound.

They also found a woman who was suffering from a minor-injury gunshot wound.

The two were taken to a hospital, where the man later died due to his injuries.

Officers said they are searching for a Hispanic male and Hispanic female who were both wearing dark clothing.
