A spokesperson for the Kern County Fire Department said a plane went down just before 11 a.m. on Saturday in an orange orchard on Browning Road and Schuster Road.

Battalion Chief Joe Appleton said they found one person conscious and alert in the single-engine plane. He was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries.

Crews from Wasco, McFarland and Delano responded to the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating what exactly caused the crash.

This is the third time a plane has gone down since Friday afternoon in Kern County. Two planes went down Friday: one in California City and the other in Mojave.
