Police in Oregon: Bakersfield man arrested in online sex crimes investigation

Police in Oregon said a Bakersfield man was arrested as part of an ongoing investigation into online sex crimes against children.

Timothy Scott Bernhardt, 28, was among four suspects announced Monday by the the Myrtle Creek Police Department. The other suspects are all from Oregon.

Bernhardt was arrested March 10 at the bus station in Bakersfield. He allegedly arranged for a teenage girl to take a bus from Myrtle Creek to live with him in Bakersfield. He also allegedly sent the girl "inappropriate" photos and videos, police said.

Myrtle Creek Officer Kevin Taggart wouldn't say whether Bernhardt had been in communication with a real girl or an undercover officer taking part in a sting operation.
