Police: Man in stolen car crashes, kills woman in SUV

Angel Marie Mulley, who was killed in a crash Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, on Taft Highway in Bakersfield, Calif., is seen in a photo provided by her family.

Police said a man driving a stolen car crashed into an SUV, killing one of the SUV's passengers.

The coroner's office identified the woman as 20-year-old Angel Marie Mulley.

The suspected driver of the stolen car, 24-year-old Franklin Villalta-Juarez, was arrested at the scene.

Police said they were told Villalta-Juarez was passing vehicles Sunday evening on the dirt shoulder of eastbound Taft Highway when he hit the SUV. Both the SUV and stolen Toyota Camry ended up in a field south of the road.

Two other people in the SUV were injured, police said.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help pay for funeral expenses.
