BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/FOX58) After Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-20) was ousted from his former title of Speaker of the House, Eyewitness News spoke with his fellow Kern County Congressman Rep. David Valadao (R-22) to get his take on the vote. Here is what he said:

"I am honestly very frustrated. You had a very small group. Eight Republicans worked with the whole Democrat Party to take down a leader that was actually trying to get things done. That actually accomplished quite a bit. And for us in the Central Valley was actually a huge advocate for us on so many different topics that are important to the Valley."

Up next for Republicans is a vote to determine their next nominee for Speaker of the House. Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) takes over that role in the interim.
