2 displaced after apartment fire in northeast Bakersfield

Two people were evacuated from an apartment complex in northeast Bakersfield on Wednesday after a fire broke out.

Fire crews were called out around 9:15 p.m. to North King and Knotts streets.

Two people were immediately evacuated from the two-story apartment complex due to the flames, according to the Bakersfield Fire Department.

No one was injured during the fire.

The fire was confined to one apartment, though two units were damaged.

The Fire Department said investigators determined the fire to be "incendiary," and the investigation remains ongoing.
