BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – An east Bakersfield Mexican restaurant is closed after a Kern County health inspector found live and dead rodents there.

A live rodent was spotted under cooking equipment at Los Reyes on Baker Street. Dead rodents were found in the food stage area and basement.

Public Health Services said its inspection Wednesday also found chemicals stored above an area where food is prepared, clutter that could attract vermin, an open wall and ceiling, and a lack of a handwashing sink in the food preparation area.
