Ribbon-cutting event set for Aera STEM Success Center at Bakersfield College

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is planned for the Aera STEM Success Center at Bakersfield College.

STEM stands for "science, technology, engineering and mathematics."

The center is located north of Memorial Stadium on the BC campus. It will provide areas for study, supplemental instruction and workshops, as well as a lending library, labs and more.

“Bakersfield College is committed to providing the necessary resources to enable all our students to be successful in their courses and careers,” BC President Sonya Christian said in a news release from Heise Media Group. “The Aera STEM Success Center will be a tremendous benefit to our students in the majors of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geology, Mathematics, Engineering, and Computer Science by providing updated and upgraded facilities for them to pursue academic and social interactions that will benefit all students.”

The ceremony is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6. The event is open to the public.
