Ridgecrest police arrest suspected DUI driver

Ridgecrest police officers arrested a woman on Sunday on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Miranda Horta, 18, was spotted by a witness driving a Toyota Camry onto a sidewalk on 1000 block of North Sierra View Street and then coming to a stop, according to the Ridgecrest Police Department.

The witness then began to follow Horta under the suspicion that Horta may have been under the influence.

The witness then helped lead police to Horta's location.

Officers were able to find Horta in the vehicle at the intersection of West Drummond Avenue and North Downs Street.

Officers noticed that Horta's vehicle had sustained damage to three of the four rims and was not drivable.

Officers arrested Horta on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Ridgecrest police would like to remind people that if you spot a potential DUI driver to call 911.
