A sex registrant was sentenced Thursday to more than six years in prison for a case of indecent exposure and attempted kidnapping.

John Anthony Searls was arrested last February for incidents involving children in the Wasco and Shafter areas.

Searls faced 21 counts, but most were dismissed in November when he pleaded no contest to four of the charges: attempted kidnapping, indecent exposure with priors, annoying a child under 18, and possession of obscene matter.
