Having children is expensive – they need clothes, toys, sports equipment and more. All that stuff adds up.

Save a little money by shopping the Little Feet Repeats consignment sale going on now through Sunday at the Kern County Fairgrounds.

“We have most, anything that you’ll need to raise your child from infant all the way to teen years. And we also have women’s clothes and shoes, now,” Pamela Parnell, owner of Little Feet Repeats.

Between 100 and 200 people consign with the company, bringing their gently used children’s items to Parnell, who sells them at the large sale. Both the sellers and Little Feet Repeats get a percentage of the sale.

Shoppers can find strollers, pack-and-plays, some cribs, blankets, nursing pillows, and of course, loads of kids’ clothes and toys.

“It helps the community – they get stuff for their children at a discounted price, usually about 70 percent off retail,” Parnell said. “It also helps the people who are selling. They get a little extra money by selling their children’s things.”

The sale takes place 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Sunday, which is 50-percent-off day, where things with a “reduced” tag are 50 percent off the already reduced price.

To get to the sale, enter the fairgrounds at Gate 40 on Ming Avenue.
