A sinkhole opened Monday up at the intersection of Ashe and Harris roads.

The city hasn't said how long it'll take workers to patch up the hole.

The eastbound direction of Harris will be closed just east of Ashe, according to the Bakersfield Public Works Department.

Drivers will be directed north on Ashe from Harris while the closure is enacted.

Also, southbound and northbound Ashe Road will be closed south of Harris. Drivers heading south on Ashe will be directed west on Harris.

The northbound side of Ashe between Panama Lane and Harris will be open to local traffic only.

Drivers continuing north on Ashe through Harris will be sent to an alternate route on Reliance Drive.
