The California Highway Patrol says all lanes of southbound Interstate 5 have reopened after a big rig crash and fire at Lebec.

The semitruck hit a guardrail and bridge abutment. The driver escaped with only minor injuries, the CHP said.

Traffic was backed up, with at least partial lane closures for much of the morning. The CHP announced the freeway had fully reopened around 12:30 p.m.
