Suspect arrested for chasing, stabbing man in south Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Police officers have arrested a suspect following a stabbing Saturday night in south Bakersfield.
Officers were called about a person chasing another person with a knife near Panama Lane and Colony Street.
Officers then found a man at a Chevron on Panama Lane with a stab wound to his chest. They also found the suspect one block away from the Chevron.
An investigation revealed 40-year-old Gregory Kinion got into an argument with another man. Kinion then allegedly got a knife and stabbed the other man before chasing him around Panama Lane while attempting to stab the man again, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
The man was taken to the hospital with "serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening," according to the BPD.
Kinion was taken into custody.
