Suspects arrested in multiagency gang crackdown appear in court
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Some defendants swept up earlier this week in a gang crackdown appeared Thursday in Kern County court.
The defendants face various charges related to their alleged activities as members of the West Side Crips.
A months-long investigation culminated Tuesday with a multiagency sweep. Fifteen people were arrested over the course of the investigation, and a couple dozen more were arrested during this week's sweep.
A few more suspects remain on the loose.
The suspects that appeared Thursday in a Bakersfield courtroom face state charges, though some of those arrested in the sweep also face federal charges.
