3 charged in connection to shooting of 14-year-old boy

Three men are facing charges after a drive-by shooting that injured a 14-year old boy.

Guadalupe Mendoza is facing felony charges of attempted murder, shooting at inhabited dwelling and reckless evading of a peace officer.

Ruben Mendoza and Jaime Efrain Ramos face felony charges of reckless evading of a peace officer, along with a misdemeanor charge each.

The teenager was shot in the leg, and two homes and a car were hit by bullets on Vern Street. The Kern County Sheriff's Office said 16 spent shell casings were found at the scene.

The KCSO hasn't spoken to the motive in the case.
