Two arrested in connection to a robbery of postal worker in south Bakersfield

Two people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of an on-duty postal worker in south Bakersfield.

The Bakersfield Police Department arrested Julio Nambo, 28, of Bakersfield on July 8th, and Ruby Jimenez, 19, of Bakersfield was arrested on June 28th.

On Sunday, June 27, 2021 at approximately 9:16 A.M. BPD responded to the 4300 block of Belle Terrace for a robbery.

Officers spoke with an adult female postal worker who said she was delivering mail when she was approached by two adults who demanded the keys to the postal vehicle.

The two suspects then removed multiple packages and the victim’s purse from it. They loaded the items into the suspect vehicle and drove off.

Both suspects have been booked into the Kern County Jail for charges associated with the robbery.

A portion of the loss has been recovered.
