BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Two people were arraigned on human trafficking charges on Thursday afternoon in Kern County Superior Court.
Carlos Abreu, 57, and Sharon Cruz, 18, both entered not-guilty pleas at their arraignments.
They were arrested Tuesday afternoon in a home on the 3400 block of Dartmouth Avenue after Bakersfield police officers served a search warrant.
During the investigation, two female juveniles were found and determined to be victims of human sex trafficking.
Cruz and Abreu were charged with allegedly pandering a minor over 16 and keeping/living in a house of ill fame; Abreu was also charged on allegations of pimping.
