Delano school district employee arrested for alleged improper relationship with minor
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
The Delano Police Department said Thursday night that two employees of the Delano Joint Union High School District were arrested during a sexual assault investigation.
Police said they received information that suggested an inappropriate relationship between 28-year-old Bobby Scott Perigo and a 17-year-old female student.
The investigation concluded that Perigo was having a sexual relationship with the girl, police said.
Another DJUHSD employee, 30-year-old Juan Brito, is suspected of knowing about the inappropriate relationship and not contacting authorities.
Perigo and Brito have were arrested and booked into county jail.

STATEMENT FROM THE DELANO JOINT UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT:
"We were notified earlier today by the Delano Police Department that two classified Delano Joint Union High School District employees were arrested due to allegations that one of the employees engaged in inappropriate contact with a student and conspired to commit a crime and the other employee contributed to the delinquency of a minor and engaged in evidence destruction and witness intimidation. The Delano Police Department is leading the investigation into the allegations and we are fully cooperating with them. The employees have been placed on paid administrative leave. Since personnel matters are involved, I am unable to share any additional details with you at this time. Our students and parents can rest assured that the safety of our students is of the utmost importance. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement as they move forward with these issues."
